MR Magazine is reporting that Gap Co-Founder, Don Fisher, passed away at the age of 81. The article and his story, are worth reading as he was at the helm of a company that grew from one store in San Fransisco to having over 3,000 stores and grossing over $14 billion a year. MR is also reporting that William Rast,  Trace Ayala and Justin Timberlake’s denim brand, is set to roll out its first free-standing stores in the U.S. HMX, the company that is essentially the next generation of Hartmarx, published a news release announcing Doug Williams appointment to CEO and Director of HMX Group. The statement described Doug Williams here:

Doug is a 25-year veteran of the apparel industry with broad expertise in wholesale, licensing, retail, mergers and acquisitions, product sourcing and international business development. Most notably, Williams spent 17 years with Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation. During his time there, he rose to Group President and held senior sales positions in the men’s wholesale group and leadership positions in licensing, international business development, global manufacturing, and new business segments.
