According to MR magazine: “The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the Design Trust for Public Space are teaming up to carry out a  comprehensive study of the fashion industry’s presence in New York’s Garment District and its place in the city’s creative economy.”  Finding the right balance for the area is imperative but difficult since corporate interests constantly conflict with the industry’s interests and the historical (or iconic) importance of having the area continue to thrive in the middle of Manhattan.

WWD is reporting “indignant” reactions from the fashion world following the proposal of a French law that would require published photos that have been retouched to be labeled as such.
